"Train Ride To Hollywood"

This was the R&B group Bloodstone's one shot at making movies. They were riding high at the time with several hits; "Natural High" and "Outside Woman." Bloodstone stared in this rock musical comedy released in 1975. English rock press called them the "Black Beatles" due to a HELP-like quality to the film.

The story is about a train bound for Hollywood. A passenger is murdered and Bloodstone, who play singing train conductors, solve the who done it.

The group's first and biggest hit, "Natural High," is on the sound track of Quentin Tatantinto's film, Jackie Brown. Bloodstone has re-released a CD of their R&B classics.

What did I have to do with this? I'm glad you asked that question. At the time I was Professional Manager of Bloodstone's music publishing Company Crystal Jukebox. When the concert scene for the movie was shot I was on stage jamming with the group. It wond up on the cutting room floor but it was a too cool.

Good times! Good times!
